iTunes Drops DRM…
Not technically design… but never mind.
I just spotted a post on Brand Republic which states that iTunes have just announced a new pricing structure and the removal of DRM (Digital Rights Management) from their catalog as part of their new iTunes Plus sales model.
Cobra Bite aims lager squarely at the female market…
Cobra has been expanding its range over the last few years to include king and zero ranges and now they are making their second big push with their ‘bite’ range – a lager with real fruit juice aimed at the female market.
You thought we wouldn't notice…
Not sure how I didn’t come across this site before… A mixed bag of content but some of it is truly eye opening…
The site is basically a collection of posts showing work they believe to be ripped off or stolen from another source.
Monkey – Journey to the West at O2
Last night I saw Monkey at the O2. There are just a few days left of the extended run and I highly recommend trying to get last minute tickets if you can make it.
Monkey is based on a old Chinese legend (most known by people of my generation as a 70’s TV show called Monkey Magic). Monkey is essentially a circus opera with sung dialogue, acrobatics, martial arts and animated cut scenes. The choreography and acrobatics are by famed Chinese actor and director Chen Shi-zheng. The music is by Damon Albarn (of Blur and Gorrilaz fame) and he has teamed up again with one of my favourite comic artists Jamie Hewlett (best known for Tank Girl).
AKQA Christmas Viral
I have spotted quite a few video virals going around for Christmas – and this video by AKQA is by far my favourite…
Ted Baker Limited Edition Christmas Bags
This Christmas most shops near me have been concentrating on putting up as many huge SALE signs as humanly possible and smothering the shelves in tinsel and festive decorations. It all seems a little, obvious. I have started to not notice it – Always there in the peripheral vision, it has become a kind of visual festive white noise.
I was pondering this when I spotted this limited edition Christmas bag in Ted Baker. Subtle, stylish with a lot of thought gone into a simple idea – resulting in a bag which you want to actually pay for – and something that also handily is nice enough to use as a gift bag to save on wrapping paper too…
Petplan 12 Days of Christmas Campaign
Just in time for Xmas… a campaign I have art directed and designed at Pancentric has been mentioned on Brand Republic.
Part of a larger ongoing strategy I have been involved in for Petplan, the ‘12 Days of Christmas’ campaign sends registered users an email a day with links to daily content including funny video of the day, pet product of the day and prize of the day.
